Malacca Food Trip

Went down to Malacca for food hunting with DD. Eating from 8am to 8pm XD

Breakfast: Good Tea Restaurant @ Sri Petaling
Good Tea restaurant is my favourite hawker stalls in sri petaling. I am in love with the 'yin yong' and fried rice there!

Ying Yong (cantonese fried noodle?) RM 4.50

Went straight down to Malacca after breakfast. Weather was hot, decided to go for a cooling cendol.

Cendol: Jonker 88 @ Jonker street

Baba Cendol RM 2.00

Chicken Riceball  : the oldest looking restaurant @ Jonker street
I forgot the name of the restaurant, but its the first restaurant located at Jonker street. The oldest and the nicest chicken rice ball restaurant.

Look at the queue at 11am! While the other restaurant was quite empty as it was a weekday. Waited for 20minutes to get in.

Chicken + 10 rice balls + 1 drinks RM13.40

Hat popiah: Jonker 88 @ Jonker Street
Wanted to get the hat popiah from Nancy's kitchen. But it wasnt available that day. Went back to Jonker 88 for it.

Hat Popiah Rm7 for 6

Had enough of Jonker street. Next stop, Dataran Pahlawan for the Mille Crepe i've waiting for! =D

Mille Crepe: Nadeje @ Dataran Pahlawan
Wanted to go to the outlet in Melaka Raya but it was closed on Monday =( i prefer the environment over there than in Dataran Pahlawan. But its good enough as long as i had my mille crepe <3<3<3

Double Chocolate Rm9.00
Original Rm8.50
My favourite!
Whole cake for RM65

Went to Portuguese Settlement as we wanted to have o-jien (osyter omelette), but it was still early, no shops are open. Sat by the beach to enjoy the wind and had some pictures taken. Forget about the beach. Its ugly.

Satay Celup: Restoran Ban Lee Siang @ Jalan Ong Kim Wee
DD's long awaiting satay celup! I heard about people saying that Capitol Satau Celup is nicer? Wanted to try it out but it was closed in monday, again. =(
Went to this satay celup shop that i've been for a couple of times.

 RM0.60 per stick

We had enough of food and have no idea what else to eat. But we havent have o-jien yet. Went around and asked the locals for the nicest o-jien in town and they all recommended this shop in Jalan Bunga Raya. What i hate about Malacca is the one-way road. Once you missed a turn, you need to go one whole round again. It would be even worst if the traffic is conjested!

O-jien: Boon Leong Food Court @ Jalan Bunga Raya
This stall only starts at 7pm. We were there at 5pm? Walked along the streets to kill some time and ended up sitting in a small air-conditioned shopping mall as we have no more energy to walk.

Went back to the stall. There were already some people waiting there as they were still setting up the stall. They even had a long list of pre-booked order! Ordered the o-jien and went back to Dataran Pahlawan to collect our reserved mille crepe to bring back to KL. Collected the o-jien at 8pm.

Only take aways available. No place for dine in. Had the o-jien in the car while on the way home.

RM 6 for one big pack!

Basically i think all the food i had was good. No dissapointment and no regrets. I've chosen those well known and famous stalls, so its unlikely to go wrong i guess? Haha

I had a map with me and it helped alot when going around Malacca. I dont own a gps, plus i had some bad experiences with gps, so a map will do =). The map only cost me 2bucks anyway, or can even get it for free in hotels.

Well, here ends our Malacca food trip. It was a fun but fattening trip. But it's worth it! =)
