Sinful breakfast: Pancakes

The day before DD's exam, i made him a sinful breakfast for a kickstart of a stressful studying day. Well basically there is no such thing as diet during exam period.

First was toast bread. Basically just toasted bread with butter and top with poached egg or half boiled egg.

Then the sinful buttermilk pancakes. Recipe from allrecipes.com. No alterations. Everything is perfect. This is what you need:

180ml milk

2 tablespoons white vinegar

125g all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons white sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 egg

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Method:
 1. Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to "sour".
From internet source, the addition of vinegar to milk will turns it into Buttermilk.

2. Whisk egg until slightly foamy and add in butter and milk mixture.

3. Combine all the dry ingredients and whisk into egg mixture. You will get a thick paste in the end.

4. Heat non-stick pan under medium heat with butter, add desire amount of pancake batter.
Cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a spatula, and cook until browned on the other side.

This is the basic recipe for pancakes and you can start getting creative and add other ingredients into it.
Maybe add some chocolatechips or nuts into the batter, turning it into chocolate pancakes. Or top with fruits or jam instead of butter and honey. Lots of sinful ways to eat a pancake!

So i did two versions of pancakes. First is the normal butter and honey.

And the second version, top the pancakes with vanilla ice-cream and oreo crumbs.

Hot pancakes + Cold ice-cream. Yums!
