Chocolate Lava Cake

Chocolate Lava aka Molten Chocolate aka Baked Chocolate Pudding. Whichever you call it, it will still taste as good. om nom nom nom!

I had my first Chocolate Lava cake about 5 years back in a restaurant called Nero Vivo in Changkat Bukit Bintang. It tasted so heavely that i couldnt forget about it since then. I've collected some recipes for it but never thought of baking it coz i hate cleaning up @_@ Finally decided to bake my own Chocolate Lava after having one in poco homemade.

 Left: Chef & Brews
Right: poco homemade

Ingredients A
100g Dark chocolate, chopped
100g Butter

Ingredients B
2 Eggs
2 Egg yolks
50g Sugar

Ingredient C
50g Flour

1. Grease and line the bottom of six pudding moulds, 3-inch diameter and 2 1/2-inch in height.
(I used Ramekins (2.5 /2-inch), it filled 5 of it with half of the ingredients)
2. Melt (A) using double boiler or microwave.

3. Whip (B) until light and fluffly. Fold in sieved (C) and mix until well blended.

4. Add in (A). Mix until well combined. Pour it onto the prepared moulds. Wrap them with cling film. Freeze for 24hours.
5. Bake at 210 oC for 8 to 10 minutes. Serve immediately.

Making the batter for Chocolate Lava cake is pretty easy .But it is really hard when it comes to controlling the baking time. It defers from the size of mould, oven, personal likings and so on. All i can say is practice makes perfect. The worst you can get its a well baked chocolate cake which will still taste good. I like mine to be more watery as i enjoy the chocolate sauce alot.

Can either serve with or without the mould. Garnish with some icing sugar. Would be perfect to serve together with some ice-cream.
